Body Lift

From €20.000

Are you looking for a body lift by an experienced plastic surgeon in the Netherlands? Blooming Plastische Chirurgie is renowned for its expertise and personal approach. Our experienced plastic surgeons, specialising in body contouring, would be delighted to discuss your wishes and expectations in a personal consultation at our clinic.

A body lift is an extensive surgical procedure in which excess skin around the abdomen, hips, flanks, back and buttocks is removed. It goes beyond aesthetics; after extreme weight loss, excess skin around the entire midsection can lead to skin problems, discomfort and a significant impact on self-confidence. With a carefully performed body lift, we restore the body contour and give you a tighter and more balanced result.

Everything you need to know about body lift

Anaesthesia

At Blooming Plastische Chirurgie, a body lift is performed under general anaesthesia. This means that you will be fully asleep during the procedure and will feel no pain. Our experienced anaesthetists ensure a safe and comfortable anaesthetic, with your vital functions closely monitored.

Duration of the procedure

The duration of a body lift varies depending on the complexity of the procedure and your individual situation. On average, a body lift takes 180 to 300 minutes. During the consultation, the plastic surgeon will give you a more precise estimate of the expected procedure duration.

Recovery time

After the body lift, you will stay one night in the clinic for observation and aftercare. Most patients can resume their daily activities after 2 to 4 weeks. The total recovery period is approximately four to six weeks, after which you can gradually resume all activities. Throughout the recovery process, we will guide you closely and provide tailored aftercare to ensure an optimal result.

Your personal introduction to the plastic surgeon

The first consultation is centred on your personal introduction to the plastic surgeon. In an open and confidential atmosphere, you will discuss your wishes and expectations regarding the body lift. The surgeon will listen carefully to your story and take the time to thoroughly analyse your body and the extent of the excess skin.

Tailored information

The surgeon will provide you with comprehensive information about the various options for a body lift, tailored to your individual situation and wishes. If, in addition to excess skin, there is also excess fat, the surgeon will discuss the possibility of a combined treatment with liposuction. Your medical background, medication use and overall health will also be reviewed. The entire treatment process will be discussed, including the preparation, the surgery itself, the aftercare and the recovery process.

The goal of a body lift

The goal of a body lift is to remove the excess skin around the entire midsection and thereby create a tighter and more balanced body contour. The plastic surgeon will discuss during the consultation which approach is most suitable for your situation and what you can realistically expect from the result. After the first consultation, you may schedule a second consultation if you wish, to arrive at a well-considered decision.

Advantages and disadvantages, risks and complications

During the consultation, the advantages and disadvantages of a body lift will also be discussed, as well as the possible risks and complications. The surgeon will be open and honest about the possible side effects and advise you on how to minimise them.

Your questions are central

Of course, there is ample opportunity during the consultation to ask all your questions about the body lift. The surgeon will answer these questions comprehensively and in plain language, so that you get a good picture of what to expect.

A well-considered decision

We believe it is important that after the consultation you are able to make a well-considered decision about the body lift. That is why we devote considerable attention to informing you about the possibilities, risks and expectations. Your wishes and satisfaction with the result are our priority.

Consultation fee

A consultation fee of €100 applies. This amount will be deducted from the final price of the treatment, should you decide to have the body lift performed at Blooming Plastische Chirurgie.

Anaesthesia and procedure duration

A body lift is performed under general anaesthesia, so that you are fully asleep during the procedure and feel no pain. The operation takes an average of 180 to 300 minutes, depending on the complexity of the procedure and your individual situation. Prior to the operation, the plastic surgeon will give you a precise estimate of the expected procedure duration.

Preparation and marking

Before the operation begins, the plastic surgeon carefully marks the area to be treated. This ensures precise execution of the procedure and determines where the incisions will be placed and how much skin will be removed.

The procedure

During the body lift, the plastic surgeon makes an incision that runs around the entire midsection, concealed in the bikini line. Via this incision, the excess skin on the front, sides and back of the body is removed, after which the skin is carefully sutured. If desired, liposuction can be performed simultaneously to remove excess fatty tissue and optimise the final result.

Drains and overnight stay

At the end of the operation, drains are placed to drain wound fluid. After the body lift, you will stay one night in our clinic, so that we can provide you with the best care and support during the first phase of your recovery.

After the operation

After the body lift, you will receive compression garments that you must wear day and night for the first six weeks. This supports the recovery of the treated area. Our team will provide you with comprehensive aftercare instructions, so that you are well prepared when you go home.

General risks

As with any surgical procedure, a body lift carries risks and possible complications. Although these risks are small, it is important to be aware of them. General risks associated with a body lift include post-operative bleeding, infections, swelling, delayed wound healing and allergic reactions to plasters, anaesthetics or disinfectants.

Specific complications

In addition to the general risks, there are some specific complications that may occur in exceptional cases, such as changes in sensation around the treated area, fluid accumulations under the skin and a less aesthetically pleasing scar. Temporary numbness around the treated area usually resolves on its own within a few weeks to months. The plastic surgeon will discuss this in detail with you during the consultation.

Comprehensive information during the consultation

During the consultation, the plastic surgeon will discuss all risks and possible complications in detail with you. You will receive information about the likelihood of complications, how they can be prevented and how they can be treated should they occur.

Your safety is our priority

At Blooming Plastische Chirurgie, your safety is our top priority. Our experienced plastic surgeons take every possible precaution to minimise risks and prevent complications. Should a complication unexpectedly occur, you can count on professional and appropriate care.

Transparency about costs

At Blooming Plastische Chirurgie, we understand that cost is an important factor in your decision to undergo a body lift. That is why we strive for transparency and offer the treatment at a fair price, with quality and care always our top priority.

Starting price and factors that influence the price

At Blooming Plastische Chirurgie, the costs of a body lift start from €20.000,-. This amount is a guideline and covers the basic costs of the treatment, including consultations, anaesthesia, overnight stay and aftercare procedures. Liposuction is not included in this price.

The final price of your body lift may vary, depending on various factors, such as:

  • The extent of the correction: The amount of skin to be removed and the complexity of the procedure affect the price.

  • Combination with liposuction: If liposuction is combined with the body lift, the total costs will be adjusted accordingly.

  • Additional procedures: A combination with other body contouring procedures such as an arm lift or thigh lift incurs higher costs.

Personal quote

During the consultation, the plastic surgeon will discuss your wishes and expectations and draw up a personal treatment plan. Based on this treatment plan, you will receive a detailed quote, so that you know exactly where you stand.

Frequently asked questions about body lift

To prepare you as well as possible for a surgical treatment, we ensure that you receive all the necessary information, including the surgical leaflet and the pre- and post-operative instructions. On the day of the treatment, you will sign a consent form confirming that you have been fully informed and that you give your consent to the treating plastic surgeon to perform the procedure.

When the plastic surgeon makes an incision in the skin, a scar will always form. We aim to keep the scar as small as possible and to place it in a logical, less visible location. After the treatment, your body will form the scar itself.

In some cases, we advise the use of Staudt scar cream to support the healing process. The scarring process begins after approximately four to six weeks and continues to mature over the course of a year.

During the three-month follow-up, we will evaluate whether additional scar treatment is desirable.

Yes, a fee of €100 is charged for the first consultation. This amount covers the time our plastic surgeon reserves to assess your situation and answer all your questions. You can pay this amount after the consultation in cash or by debit card (credit cards excluded). If you decide to undergo the treatment, this amount will be deducted from the final quote and invoice.
