Our approach to care

Client First

At Blooming Plastic Surgery, the client is always at the centre of everything we do. We understand that every client has unique wishes and goals, which is why we offer tailor-made treatments fully aligned with your personal needs. Our mission is not only to achieve aesthetic improvements, but also to enhance your wellbeing and confidence.

Personalised treatment plan

Every client is unique. That is why we create a bespoke treatment plan, taking into account your medical history, goals and aesthetic wishes.

Realistic expectations

We believe in honesty and transparency. We ensure you are well informed about the possible results, risks and recovery time, so you can make well-considered decisions.

Safety of care

The safety and wellbeing of our clients is always the highest priority. We work with the most advanced technology and best practices in plastic surgery.

An open and honest conversation

First consultation

The first consultation is an important introductory moment in which we discuss, in an open and confidential manner, the result you wish to achieve and what we can achieve. We inform you about all aspects of the procedure and answer all your questions.

Your first consultation always takes place with the treating plastic surgeon. During this conversation you will receive all information about the treatment, the preparation and the aftercare we provide.

The cost of the first consultation is €100,-. This amount is deducted from the cost of your treatment. If you feel insufficiently informed after the first consultation, you can schedule a second appointment free of charge.

Quality

When you want or need to undergo a surgical treatment, you are looking for the best plastic surgeon. For you, this means receiving the best quality, care and attention you can expect from us. We continue to strive to deliver the highest possible quality and always take sufficient time for you.

Our clinic is independently certified by DNV — an internationally recognised certification body. We are assessed annually against two standards:

  • Quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 — the global standard for quality management. Proof that our processes, record-keeping and client communication are consistently up to standard.
  • Safety management system in accordance with NEN 8009 — the specific standard for safety within independent clinics. Risks relating to your treatment are systematically identified and managed.

For you, this means that the quality and safety of your care is checked not only by ourselves, but also by an independent third party.

Patient records

As required by law and regulations, Blooming Plastic Surgery records data directly in a patient file. The carefully maintained medical record is important for the quality and continuity of care for the client.

The medical record is also used for quality assessment, quality assurance and scientific research. We are required to register your BSN (citizen service number) in your file before we can provide you with care. This is laid down in the Act on the use of the citizen service number in healthcare (Wbsn-z).

Aftercare

Being well informed before any procedure is of essential importance. During the treatment you will be guided as well as possible, but it does not stop there. Optimal aftercare is a very important part of your procedure.

For all treatments we assess which aftercare is necessary to achieve the best result. For extensive procedures we choose to keep you with us overnight in the hospital. Upon discharge, you will receive an appointment for your first check-up, which takes place within two weeks of the procedure.

If necessary, you can contact us 24 hours a day on 023-5444974. In the evening and night-time hours you can be connected via the menu to an emergency number and the on-call doctor.

Terms and conditions

Blooming Clinic employs only BIG-registered plastic surgeons, all of whom are members of the NVPC and the NVEPC. All treatments are performed by accredited plastic surgeons. We operate in accordance with the Cosmetic Care Quality Framework.

Blooming Plastic Surgery has established its General Consumer Terms and Conditions in accordance with the guidelines of Independent Clinics Netherlands.

Treatment restrictions

In some cases, treatment restrictions have been put in place to reduce the risk of complications or to comply with the NVPC code of conduct:

  • No cosmetic procedures for clients under 18 years of age
  • No surgical procedures for a Body Mass Index above 32
  • No facelift or open subcutaneous brow lift is performed on smokers
  • Clients with body dysmorphic disorder or other psychiatric conditions affecting decision-making capacity are generally not treated
  • No surgical procedures for patients with a hard indication for blood thinners

Reflection period

In accordance with the guidelines, Blooming Clinic values allowing a certain reflection period between the consultation and any potential operation. This is to prevent people from starting a treatment hastily, insufficiently informed or without time to reflect.

After the first consultation, one of our staff members may contact you by telephone to ask whether you have received sufficient information. If desired, the option exists to schedule a second consultation.

Treatment agreement

A treatment agreement means that a client gives consent to undergo a specific clinical examination and/or treatment, after the client has been extensively informed about this in advance by a specialist.

We attach great importance to providing complete information and devote considerable time and attention to informing clients about the advantages and disadvantages of a surgical procedure. If we feel that an unrealistic expectation exists, we will not proceed with the treatment.

Procedures

Blooming Plastic Surgery has one treatment room where minor surgical procedures can be performed without implants. In practice, only procedures under local anaesthesia are performed here.

All other forms of surgery and all procedures under general anaesthesia take place at the Spaarne Gasthuis, Medische Kliniek Velsen or the Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis. For this, clients are first screened at the pre-operative anaesthesia outpatient clinic.

Costs and reimbursement

Blooming Plastic Surgery only performs procedures without a medical indication. This means that costs for a treatment are at your own expense. If you may be eligible for reimbursement from your health insurer, we advise you to make an appointment at the plastic surgery outpatient clinic of the hospital.

Resuscitation policy

During any medical treatment, it may occur in very rare cases that you become critically ill. Blooming has a policy that every client who suffers a cardiac arrest will be resuscitated, unless you have expressed other wishes.

You may decide not to be resuscitated or not to want specific treatments. In that case, it is of great importance that you clearly communicate this to your treating plastic surgeon.
