The aim of a Botox treatment

The aim is to temporarily inhibit muscle movements that cause wrinkles, so that the face looks fresher and more youthful. Botox can be used for crow's feet, forehead lines, frown lines, a gummy smile and medical conditions such as teeth grinding or excessive sweating. The specialist will discuss which zones are most suitable for you.

A consultation fee of €100,- applies. These costs will be deducted from the final price of the treatment should you decide to proceed at Blooming Plastische Chirurgie.

Treatment duration and preparation

A Botox treatment takes an average of 10 to 15 minutes and requires no anaesthesia. Prior to the treatment the specialist will discuss the zones to be treated and the desired result, so that the injections are placed accurately and purposefully.

Preparation and marking

The specialist carefully determines the injection points in advance based on your facial analysis and wishes. This ensures precise execution and the most natural result possible.

The treatment

With a fine needle the Botox is injected into the relevant muscles. By temporarily relaxing the muscle, the wrinkles caused by muscle movements become smoother. The fine needle ensures no scars are formed. The first effects are visible after a few days; the full result after two to three weeks. The effect lasts an average of three to six months. For teeth grinding and excessive sweating the effect can last an average of nine months.

After the treatment

After the Botox treatment you can go home almost immediately. For three hours after the treatment we advise you not to lie on your side, not to exercise and not to rub your face. Our team will provide you with comprehensive aftercare instructions.

Swelling and pain

After the treatment the skin may feel slightly sensitive or red around the injection points. This is temporary and usually subsides within a few hours. Light bruising around the injection points is possible and will resolve on its own.

Result and repeat treatment

The first effects become visible after a few days. The full result can be assessed after two to three weeks. We schedule a follow-up consultation if desired to evaluate and adjust if necessary. After three to six months the treatment can be repeated to maintain the result.

Important notes

We advise against a Botox treatment during pregnancy, during a course of antibiotics, immediately after vaccination and while breastfeeding. Please inform us in advance if you are hypersensitive to Botox or suffer from a muscle condition such as myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome.

General risks

A Botox treatment is safe when performed by a qualified specialist. As with any medical procedure, side effects may occur. These are generally short-lived. Possible side effects include light bruising around the injection points, temporary swelling around the eyes and headache that usually subsides after a few days.

Specific complications

In exceptional cases specific complications may occur, such as a temporarily drooping eyebrow from an injection placed too close to the eyebrow, a temporarily drooping eyelid, difficulty swallowing with injections in the neck region or, in very rare cases, an allergic reaction. The specialist will discuss this with you in detail during the consultation.

The final price may vary depending on:

• The number of zones: A treatment of one zone differs in price from two or three zones.

• The type of treatment: Botox for medical conditions such as teeth grinding or excessive sweating differs in price from a cosmetic treatment.

• Follow-up treatments: With a follow-up treatment the specialist is already familiar with your face, making the treatment shorter and more efficient.
