Doctor Kalam Ahmed is a plastic surgeon at Blooming Plastische Chirurgie and clearly sees the influence of the
celebs in his practice. "In the Netherlands we are somewhat slower at following these kinds of trends. I do clearly see that there are people who are influenced by social media and want to have a procedure. That is the case with a
Brazilian Butt Lift, but also with other procedures. Kylie Jenner, for example, has caused many people to have their lips done, and Bella Hadid is responsible for the
cat eye trend."
People with a large
following certainly have an influence on changes in the cosmetic world, according to plastic surgeon Kalam Ahmed. "If the Kardashians do something different today, not everyone will immediately follow suit. But in the long run you do see that they have a great deal of influence and drive trends. In itself that is not so strange."
