A nose is essential for your facial proportions and appearance. At Blooming we offer rhinoplasty to restore balance to your face.
When your nose causes insecurity, it can greatly affect your daily life and self-confidence. There can be many reasons why you may wish to have your nose treated. You may also choose a rhinoplasty for functional reasons, such as difficulty breathing. A rhinoplasty is a permanent cosmetic procedure in which the nose is altered. This is a major, significant step, and we are happy to provide you with the right guidance to achieve a result that makes you happy.
Aesthetic aspect
The right size and shape of the nose are determining factors for harmony and balance in your face. How this manifests depends greatly on your other facial features and your aesthetic wishes and preferences. Some people are more drawn to a straight nose, whilst others prefer a turned-up nose. The surgeons at Blooming look at this harmony and the proportions of the face with an experienced eye, ensuring that your facial features are beautifully showcased. Tailored care is essential in this: every client deserves a personalised approach.
The consultation
A consultation always takes place before the surgery. This is an essential part of the process. One of our plastic surgeons will examine your nose and discuss the expectations, the possible outcome, and the options with you in detail. This ensures that you can always make a well-considered choice.
The rhinoplasty
The procedure itself is performed under general anaesthesia. Naturally, the precise treatment depends on which corrections are to be made. The procedure can in the majority of cases be performed through a very small incision at the base of the nose, between the nostrils. The remaining incisions are made inside the nose and are therefore not visible. The incision in the skin is neatly sutured and usually heals almost without a trace. At the end of the procedure, a nasal splint and nasal packs are placed if necessary. The operation takes on average one to two and a half hours, and you may go home the same day, although you may not drive yourself. You will be prescribed antibiotics to support a smooth recovery, as well as a nasal ointment to be applied 2 to 3 times a day for 2 to 3 weeks. A rhinoplasty is not a particularly painful procedure for most people. Paracetamol usually provides sufficient pain relief.
Recovery
And then, after a week, comes an exciting and joyful moment: the splint is carefully removed to reveal a beautiful nose. You can already see the changes to the nose very clearly at this point. There will still be some swelling and slight bruising after a week, often under the eyes. During the recovery process, try to rest as much as possible and avoid putting pressure on the area. After three months, you will return for a follow-up appointment. Much of the swelling will have subsided by then, and 95% of the result will be visible. After one year, the full result can be seen.
