Polynucleotides: A Natural Boost for Your Skin

Sometimes your skin does not need volume, no filler and no procedure. Sometimes it simply needs a powerful reset from within. Polynucleotides are exactly that: a smart, biological treatment that directs your skin to repair and renew itself.

At Blooming Plastic Surgery in Haarlem, we offer polynucleotides as part of our range of skin-enhancing treatments, performed by experienced specialists in a safe, medical environment.

What are polynucleotides and how do they work?

Polynucleotides are purified DNA chains, derived from salmon or trout DNA. They are biologically closely related to our own DNA, which makes them exceptionally well-tolerated by the skin. Unlike fillers, polynucleotides do not add volume. They work at a cellular level: they activate the fibroblasts, the skin cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin.

As the years pass, fibroblasts become increasingly less active, and you will notice this. The skin loses firmness, becomes drier, and the first fine lines appear. Polynucleotides give those cells a new signal to start working again. The result is firmer, better-hydrated skin with a healthy, fresh glow. And the best part: your facial expressions remain exactly as they are.

During the treatment, small injections are placed in the area to be treated using a fine needle. For an optimal result, three treatments are generally required, with intervals of 2 to 4 weeks.

Who is suitable for polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are an excellent choice for anyone who wants to improve the quality of their skin without a procedure or volume addition. The treatment is particularly effective for dull or tired skin, thinning skin around the eyes or neck, early signs of ageing, fine lines, acne scars, and as preventive anti-ageing. People who do not (yet) want fillers but are looking for a visible difference are increasingly choosing polynucleotides.

At Blooming, we regularly combine polynucleotides with Morpheus8, botox, hyaluronic acid fillers, or skinboosters. In this way, we bring skin texture, elasticity, and expression into balance, fully tailored to your skin and wishes.

Please note: The treatment is not suitable in the case of a fish allergy, pregnancy or breastfeeding, active infections, use of blood thinners, certain autoimmune conditions, or a history of cancer. During the consultation, we always discuss your individual suitability.

Frequently asked questions

Is the treatment painful? The injections may be briefly sensitive, but are generally well tolerated.

When will I see results? The result develops gradually. The first improvement is often already visible after two to four weeks, and skin quality continues to improve in the weeks following the treatment.

What does a treatment cost? A polynucleotides treatment at Blooming costs €300,-. A consultation fee of €100,- applies, which will be deducted from the price of the treatment.

Polynucleotides restore your skin to its best version — not by changing it, but by strengthening it. Curious what the treatment can do for your skin? Book a consultation at Blooming Plastic Surgery in Haarlem and discover it together with our specialists.
