Morpheus8 After Liposuction at Blooming

Liposuction can improve body contours by removing localised fat deposits. How the skin adapts afterwards varies per person. When the skin remains somewhat lax, an additional treatment focused on skin quality may be considered. Morpheus8 is one of the options.

Why the Skin Deserves Attention After Liposuction

The amount of fat and the quality of the skin both play a role in the appearance of the treated area. A reduction in volume does not automatically mean the skin tightens proportionally. When elasticity is limited, skin laxity may remain visible.

It is therefore important to also consider the skin when assessing the result. Is it a matter of mild laxity, a change in skin texture, or a clear excess of skin? That distinction determines which follow-up step may be worthwhile.

How Morpheus8 Works

Morpheus8 combines fine needles with radiofrequency energy. This delivers controlled heat into the skin, with the aim of stimulating the production and renewal of collagen. The treatment is focused on improving skin texture and firmness. The effect develops gradually in the weeks and months following the treatment.

What Morpheus8 Can Add

Improvement of Mild Skin Laxity

On suitable skin, radiofrequency microneedling can contribute to a firmer appearance. After liposuction, this can be of interest when the contour has improved but the skin still looks somewhat loose. How much improvement is possible depends, among other things, on the degree of laxity and the condition of the tissue.

Attention to Skin Texture

In addition to firmness, skin texture can also be a treatment goal. Think of a finely crepey skin surface. It is important here to distinguish between superficial skin changes and deeper indentations, adhesions, or contour irregularities following surgery. These first require assessment by the plastic surgeon.

An Additional Option Without Skin Removal

Morpheus8 may be an option for selected patients when a treatment without surgical skin removal is appropriate. In cases of a clear excess of skin, the possibilities are limited and a different approach may be more suitable.

Research into radiofrequency microneedling shows possibilities for skin laxity. However, studies on combinations with other treatments do not prove how much a standalone Morpheus8 treatment adds after liposuction. A specific result therefore cannot be guaranteed.

When Can You Start After Liposuction

The treated area must have recovered sufficiently before any additional treatment is considered. The plastic surgeon will assess together with the practitioner whether and when this is safe. The recovery, any swelling, and the condition of the skin and underlying tissue are all taken into account.

Morpheus8 is not a necessary follow-up step for everyone who has undergone liposuction. Nor is it a treatment that is routinely used to accelerate recovery from surgery.

What to Expect from the Treatment

Prior to the treatment, a numbing cream is applied at Blooming. Afterwards, the skin may be red, swollen, or sensitive, and small scabs may form. The number of sessions and aftercare are tailored to the treatment area and your skin.

A careful assessment of the risks is part of this. In addition to temporary skin reactions, complications can occur, including burns, pigment changes, scarring, unwanted fat loss, and nerve damage. Expert assessment and appropriate settings are therefore essential.
