Buttock Augmentation

Buttock Augmentation

Buttock augmentation is a cosmetic procedure designed to add volume, shape, and definition to the buttocks. This can be achieved through implants or fat transfer. This article explores the differences between these approaches, who is a good candidate, what the procedure involves, and what the recovery period looks like. If you are curious about enhancing your curves, Blooming's specialists will guide you through the options to help you make a well-informed and confident decision.

In the past, having large buttocks was not something you wanted to draw attention to. In recent years, however, this has changed entirely. Having inconspicuous buttocks is now seen as a disadvantage. Buttock augmentation has therefore become a growing trend. Augmenting your buttocks is a way to achieve those desired rounded curves. Gluteal exercises can take you a long way. But for the desired shape, buttock augmentation is ultimately the only solution — it allows the shape to be adjusted with precision. Buttock augmentation is not something to be taken lightly. There is quite a lot involved. It is a surgical procedure with a permanent effect, which means it is performed under anaesthesia. Thorough preparation and good conditions for a swift recovery are of essential importance. At Blooming, the only method for buttock augmentation is lipofilling. This means that your own fat is used to augment the buttocks. The fat is removed (liposuctioned) from other areas and injected into the buttocks. billen opvullen blooming plastische chirurgie

Preferring Your Own Fat for Buttock Augmentation

We do not use implants for buttock augmentation at Blooming. The reason for this is that the risk of complications with buttock implants is high. Using the body's own fat to change the shape of the buttocks has several advantages — most notably that it is your own tissue. An additional benefit is that the fat cells are removed from areas such as the abdomen, back, or thighs — places where most people are happy to lose some fat.

Fat Removal With Liposuction

The procedure for buttock augmentation takes between 1 and 2.5 hours, depending on the number of areas from which liposuction is performed. Work is carried out in several areas. First the fat is removed (liposuction), then the fat cells are separated from the fluid used during liposuction, and finally the fat is injected into the buttocks using a cannula (a hollow needle). During the consultation prior to the procedure, it is carefully determined where fat can be removed (and how much), and exactly where it will be injected (and how much). A prerequisite for augmenting the buttocks with your own fat is that there is sufficient fat elsewhere on the body to transfer.

Recovery After Buttock Augmentation

After the procedure, recovery takes some time. During the first week, you cannot sit normally on your buttocks. Fortunately, there are special cushions available that allow you to sit reasonably comfortably without exerting pressure on the treated area. The buttocks cannot yet be shown in their full glory either. You will wear special compression garments for the first few weeks. This is because not only the buttocks need to heal, but also the areas from which fat was removed. Once this period has passed, you can enjoy your augmented buttocks for a very long time. Fat cells that 'take' permanently never disappear. The small entry points made by the needles for removing and injecting the fat are tiny, and over time you will barely notice them. Buttock augmentation is no small undertaking, but it can certainly be worthwhile with the highly skilled procedure performed at Blooming.
